+ Dr John G McManus
PhD, MAPS

John is a Partner and Senior Psychologist in
Mind & Matter Consulting which is a consulting firm involved in the provision of a range of psychological services to organisations and to the broader community. The services to the community include individual counselling and therapy, assessment, group therapy and training. The range of services to organisations includes provision of Employee Assistance Programs, coaching and consulting.

He is the Past President of EAPAA which is the peak body for EAP professionals in Australia and New Zealand. EAPAA is dedicated to the support of all parties involved in the provision of high quality, ethical, employee assistance services. John earned his PhD from the University of Queensland. His thesis focused on the psychoanalytic study of organisations and established that psychological interventions do provide significant health benefits to employees and their families.

In his career as a Psychologist he has worked in schools, colleges and hospitals. John specialises in consulting to a wide range of organisations, assessment and measurement, research, mediation and conflict resolution, couple counselling, substance abuse, coaching and supervision whilst remaining committed to an ongoing diverse therapeutic caseload. His way of working is regularly described as open and participative.

+ Rhyll Davey
BA (Hons) Psychology, MPsych (Org),
MClin Counselling


Rhyll is a registered Psychologist and a member of the Australian Psychological Society. Registered since 2004, she has experience in clinical counselling, vocational counselling and training within the commercial, higher education and non-government sectors.

Therapeutic Approach
Rhyll aims to provide a space where people can open up in a safe place.  Using her knowledge, she can assist people with issues that may be holding them back.  A strength of Rhyll’s is her caring and calm approach.  She is committed to improving her client’s resilience and making connections with what is important in their lives.  Within her therapy, Rhyll is guided by Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Enhancement Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy and Solution Focused Brief Therapy.

Rhyll offers treatment for adults in the following areas:
- Anxiety and Stress
- Depression and low mood
- Substance misuse and addiction
- Trauma and post-traumatic stress
- Grief and loss
- Anger management
- Emotional regulation issues

Rick Osypenko
BA MA MAPS

Rick is a Partner and Senior Psychologist in Mind and Matter Consulting which is a firm involved in the provision of a range of psychological services to organisations and to the broader community.

He has had more than 20 years experience as a psychologist working with adults, adolescents, families and couples. For a significant portion of that time he has been involved in the provision of organisational psychological services, including counselling, coaching, mentoring, training, mediation and critical incident responses for small, medium and large companies. Working in a psychiatric hospital for seven years also provided him with experience in group work, assessment, diagnosis and treatment for a broad range of patients with various clinical pathologies.

Rick’s approach to treatment is eclectic combining evidence based treatments with
a variety of models to cater for the specific therapeutic needs of clients. Rick has been accredited to provide supervision for provisional psychologists working towards
full registration.

+ Stephanie Cook
BA(Psych) MA (Psych) BEd Assoc MAPS

Stephanie is an Associate Psychologist for Mind & Matter Consulting. She has a significant and diverse professional background spanning 24 years or more. Stephanie provides a unique and constructive approach to child and family therapy, relationship counselling, executive coaching and to the implementation of individual and group programs.

Stephanie is highly experienced working with children and adolescents in an educational setting which often sees her working with the broader family dynamics in a family therapeutic context.

Her overall therapeutic approach is in the use of evidence based methodologies which focuses on children and adults making choices in changing behaviours and thought processes. She has also worked in clinical and corrective settings and has been in private practice over the more recent years.

Stephanie is also an accredited supervisor for provisional psychologists working towards full registration and is a full member of the Australian Psychological Society. 

+ Janette Tombleson
B. Sc. Applied Psychology MA Psych MAPS

Janette is a highly experienced psychologist who adopts a positive and pragmatic approach in helping people of all ages improve their well-being. Her interests include assisting children, adolescents and adults in improving their relationships when they feel locked into negative perpetual patterns of behaviour. Breaking this nexus is one of the ways that Janette approaches her relationship work and facilitates clients to move forward and change towards a much happier and relatively stress free life.

Janette has more than twenty years extensive practical experience in using a variety of therapeutic modalities. She is a qualified clinical psychologist and is experienced in Hypnotherapy, EMDR, Cognitive and Behavioural Therapies, Couple Counselling and Narrative work.

Janette has also worked in the provision of Critical Incident Debriefing and Trauma Management for medium to large organisations. She also has a lengthy experiential base in Employee Assistance Programmes, providing individual and couple counselling for various contracted organisations.

Her personal philosophy includes a belief that life can be full of possibilities, “life can be joyous and come to you with ease”. As Albert Einstein said, “Look outside the box of your thinking!”
